So I needed a quick gift for some people in my family that was practical and cute. I decided to make these handy bowl cozies. What is so great about these is that when you place a bowl in them and then put them in the microwave, you don’t burn your hands. You have to only use 100% cotton materials. Even the batting must be natural cotton without any scrim in it. If you don’t use 100% cotton fabric, thread and batting, you will start a fire in your microwave. Another great thing about these are they act as a place mat for your table or lap when you are sitting on the couch and enjoying a hot bowl of soup or cereal. As you join me in the video below, you will see a variety of colors and styles you can use. The quilting is easy. Just a quick cross quilting from corner to corner. It is fast, easy and fun.
